About Barney and Swinnerton Cycles

Swinnerton Cycles has been trading in Stoke-on-Trent since 1915 and is one of the longest established bike shops in the country. Barney Swinnerton runs the collection, repair and delivery side of the business from the shop and workshop at 67-75 Victoria Road, Fenton.

Unlike a van-only operation, work is carried out in a fully equipped workshop by Cytech-qualified mechanics — including Cytech Level 3, the highest level of the industry-recognised cycle maintenance scheme. That means everything from a routine service to a wheel build, drivetrain replacement or Di2 diagnostic can be done properly, with genuine parts.

Swinnerton Cycles is a Shimano Service Centre, the only one in Staffordshire, with Shimano-trained staff, Shimano original parts and access to the latest Shimano technology for Di2 upgrades and diagnostics.

How it works

  • Collect and return: Barney picks up your bike and drops it back once the work is done.
  • On-site where practical: Smaller jobs can often be handled at your home or workplace.
  • Clear collection charges: The collection price is adjusted to suit the distance and agreed before anything is booked.
  • Bike fitting: Professional bike fitting is available at the shop.
  • White glove delivery: For new bikes, Swinnerton Cycles offers a white glove delivery service with the customer fitted to the bike on site — this travels much further afield than the standard repair radius.
